Hoodlum Theatre is the newest addition to the Calgary Performing Arts Community, and it is one of the only youth founded, youth run companies in the area. Founded in January of 2014, a group formed a collective that would allow young artists who have outgrown other companies (by turning 18) a place to create. It allows youths in their “gap year” a place to hone their schools before going on to post secondary education, but also allows graduating students a place to break into Calgary’s theatre community.

Hoodlum Theatre’s mandate is to showcase the ambition and potential of youth, and we hope to showcase youth talent from all over in not only acting, but aspiring playwrights, directors and production staff as well.
