| COURSE DESCRIPTION: Join theatre designer Narda McCarroll to learn how to get started with Set Design for Theatre! Using an example script, Narda will be leading participants through a variety of hands on exercises exploring the basics of Set Design. Some lessons we will be focusing on are how to: find design clues & ideas in a script, put together a design to present (and things to consider when putting together a design!), and collaborating with the director, stage manager & other designers. This workshop looks to be an exciting blend of creative visualization combined with concrete, hands-on activity to bring your vision to life! This workshop is open to everyone interested in learning more about set design from the absolute newbie to budding set designers, directors and builders! This workshop is intended for ages 18+ These workshops are presented at this low cost in the spirit of community theatre.
