| Fire Exit Theatre is holding auditions for “Traveler In the Dark”. Show will run end of April 2009. Rehearsals will be 2 nights per week starting late January 2009. Please prepare a 2-3 minute dramatic monologue and/or a 2-3 minute comedic monologue Thursday, November 20th at Alberta Bible College from 6-10 pm Follow signs to room Call Wanda at 403 901 5081 to book a time. *Sam – A world famous surgeon about age 45 or so. He is a brilliant loner, a man who finds himself unable to fix his own problems or control life. Although once a young boy filled with hope, he can now seem preoccupied, impatient and condescending. At the same time, he can also be counted on to handle almost anything. His sense of humor is what makes you put up with his infuriating personal security and his refusal to believe there is any hope. * Glory – a gorgeous woman of 35 or so, who takes her responsibilities as a helpful wife and mother quite seriously. She comes from a financially rich heritage and also has a rare grace, elegance and simplicity of spirit about her that seeks to understand, comfort and love despite any discouragement. It is hard to understand why she has stayed with Sam all these years. *Stephen – a pale 12 year old boy, the son of Glory and Sam. A smart boy who is easily excited and intrigued by anything new and different who hasn't watched much television or played with many other children. He has an alert, questioning manner, a respect for his father, and a more childlike love for his mother. Although he sometimes thinks quite practically like his father Sam, he is developing his own ideas about things you cannot see. *Everett – Sam's father, somewhere around the age of 65 to 75. He used to be a fire-breathing evangelist. Now he is a country preacher who officiates at the funerals of those he used to preach to. Sam and Everett rarely see or talk with one another. He is a favorite with the ladies, has a wizard's command of the language, and a direct, personal relationship with God. | |
